Who is Medicare Supplement Insurance for?

Medicare Supplement Insurance, also known as Medigap, is perfect for individuals looking to minimize the out-of-pocket expenses that Medicare might not cover. Some Medigap plans always provide coverage when you travel outside of the United States. When you have a medical procedure performed, here’s what will happen:

  • Medicare will pay its portion of the health care costs
  • If there is a remaining balance, then Medigap will pay its portion of the healthcare costs

Please note that Medigap policies only cover one person - Should you and your spouse both want Supplement Insurance, you will need to purchase separate policies.

Medicare Supplement Insurance doesn’t cover all the “gaps”

Medigap policies generally do not cover the following:

  • Long-term care
  • Vision
  • Dental
  • Hearing aids
  • Eyeglasses
  • Private-duty nursing
